I grew up on a farm in Central Nebraska. We raised our own beef & grilled occasionally. Once out on my own, I grilled every chance I could. The Case IH dealer I worked at started carrying Traeger Grills &, in February of 2009, I bought my first smoker (that I still have) & became obsessed with BBQ & smoked foods.

Fast forward many years (and many smokers) later, I had been toying with the idea of a side hustle of BBQ catering. In May of 2019, I came up with a business name & logo, mainly just for fun. My niece kicked the business into gear by telling me I was going to cater her daughter’s 1st birthday party & would treat her as my first customer. So, in August of 2019, Bearded Hog BBQ & Catering had its first gig. And the business has stayed steady since then.

Not long after that first catering, my wife was looking at the label of a spicy seasoning I’d been ordering & said “You could make that yourself.” So I did, with changes & additions, until I got it right & Hot Hog was born. It wasn’t long until I had requests to make a non-spicy seasoning. Smoky Swine was developed & quickly became popular among friends & family. Recently I decided there was a need for a beef/wild game seasoning & Savory Steer was added to the lineup.

After hand mixing & bottling every bottle of seasoning to sell locally, by word of mouth & at a friend’s coffee shop & boutique, I decided it was time to bring my seasonings to retail & on-line. With the help of my co-packer, I’m proud to bring Bearded Hog BBQ’s small batch, hand crafted, gourmet seasonings to you & hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Thank you, Tony
